Due to the epidemic, the School of Communication of Ming Chuan University once again hosted the “Cross-Strait Mass Communication Student Exchange Activity” after three years. Mainland students arrived in Taiwan on the 15th for a month of exchange. In addition to arranging communication professional courses, the School of Communication will also conduct interviews and exchanges with several media such as Public Television, Daai TV, CCTV, and Taiwan Fact Checking Center. At the same time, students will visit cultural and creative attractions and non-profit organizations in northern and Taichung to experience Taiwan life and culture.

Chen Baiyu, dean of the School of Communication at Ming Chuan University, said that he is looking forward to the students’ study and sharing of their experiences in Taiwan in the next month.

Regarding the cross-strait exchange activities held again after three years, Chen Baiyu, dean of the School of Communication at Ming Chuan University, said that he is very much looking forward to the next exchange time, especially in the communication practical courses where students from Taiwan and mainland universities can discuss together and think about some news communication issues or There are more sparks in the research direction, and I hope that the students will have an in-depth experience of life in Taiwan during the exchange period. I look forward to the results sharing and feedback from mainland students in one month.

Regarding the difficulties encountered in the execution of the event, Chen Baiyu said that the event was expected to be launched in the first half of 2023. However, although it was known that the epidemic was gradually beginning to be lifted at that time, it was not possible to have a clear implementation time and to apply for relevant documents for mainland students to enter the country. There are still many variables, so planning will take more effort and require more consideration and preparation.

Students from four universities including the School of Journalism and Communication of Shanghai University, the School of Journalism and Communication of Beijing Normal University, the Department of Radio and Television of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of Dalian University of Technology, and the School of Journalism and Communication of Hunan University participated in the exchange activities.
