[News from this Journal] After Mingchuan University and Longyan University signed a cooperation and exchange agreement in 2021, physical exchanges have been stagnant for many years due to the epidemic. In view of the slowdown of the epidemic and in order to strengthen cooperation and exchanges between the two sides, Mingchuan Sports Room was invited to participate in the “Fujian-Taiwan Sports Exchange Camp” organized by Longyan College from 12/2-7, and visited Longyan Sports School, West Fujian Vocational and Technical College, and Xiamen University of Technology College and Ming Chuan Kinmen Branch, and held friendly matches with sports players from various schools.Director of the Physical Education Department Ding Cuiling led two teachers, You Nengyang and He Songyan, 12 women’s volleyball team players and 4 cheerleading students on this trip. In order to expand the effectiveness of exchanges, the exchange group not only visited Longyan College, which mainly trains national sports teams, and had Tai Chi course experience, dragon dance course experience, physical fitness screening and intervention experience with teachers and students of the school; the group also participated in Tulou Run in a marathon style and enjoy the landscape of Yongding Tulou while running. Longyan University is an institution of higher learning with education from elementary school to high school. It has trained many Olympic champions, has a national key high-level sports reserve talent base, and the National Sports Outstanding Contribution Award.
At the West Min Vocational and Technical College, in addition to experiencing the school’s famous rubbing technology, the exchange team members also had five friendly matches between the Mingchuan Women’s Volleyball Team and the West Min Vocational Technical College. Five consecutive games were held, and the school’s secretary, principal, and male and female teachers joined one after another. On the field, the two sides used the game to meet friends, exchange and learn, and the friendly schools praised the strength of the Mingchuan women’s volleyball team. On 12/6, I came to Xiamen University of Technology, which has had a relationship with Mingchuan for decades, and it coincided with the opening of the first Cross-Strait Youth Film Festival. The Mingchuan cheerleaders also showed off their superb dance skills at Xiamen University of Technology. The women’s volleyball team also held a friendly match. Both sides tied, everyone was happy. .
Director of the Physical Education Office Ding Cuiling said that this sports exchange event between Fujian and Taiwan universities uses sports to promote exchanges with many schools in Fujian Province, demonstrates the team spirit and discipline of Mingchuan Sports, and lays the foundation for close cooperation between universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
